Homeless man raped vulnerable girl in a tent and plied her with vodka after pretending he wanted to help her
Mohsen Farjam, 43, was jailed for 9.5 years after raping a vulnerable 15-year-old girl with a neurodevelopmental condition by exploiting her trust and using alcohol, police said.
- On March 5, Manchester Crown Court sentenced Mohsen Farjam, 43, to nine-and-a-half years after convictions for two rapes, two sexual assaults and one sexual assault by penetration, and placed him on the sex offender's register for life.
- In Stockport town centre, Farjam approached the lone teenager after seeing she was upset and in need of help, pretending to offer sympathy and support to groom her.
- Inside a tent near Stockport, Farjam plied the victim with vodka and began touching her despite telling her she 'looked nervous'; she escaped and police arrested him within hours.
- GMP investigators reviewed tens of thousands of pages as police said Farjam 'completely denied' the allegations and showed 'no remorse' when questioned.
- The victim was 15 and had a neurodevelopmental condition when attacked, and local specialist organisations offered support including Saint Mary's Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Manchester and Survivors Manchester.
