In 2025, travellers from Germany undertook a total of 274 million private and business trips with at least one overnight stay at home or abroad. This reduced the total number of multi-day trips by 1.1% compared to the year 2024. However, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the number of domestic trips in 2025 increased by 3.9% compared with 2024 to 169 million and was thus 5.0% higher than in the pre-Corona year 2019.
