Duco Telgenkamp admitted he allowed himself to be provoked during the lost World Cup hockey semi-final (3-4) against Spain. The Dutch striker told NOS this after the match. Telgenkamp received a ten-minute penalty in the final quarter with the score at 1-1, after which the Netherlands let the game slip away.
The Dutch hockey team missed out on a spot in the World Cup final on Friday. The Netherlands lost 3-4 to Spain at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen. Duco Telgenkamp allowed himself to be provoked (see video), and that proved fatal for the reigning Olympic champions.
