Historic Lake George Post Office is torn down

A Lake George landmark was razed last week. The tiny post office has served locals since the 1930s. According to a March 11 notice from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), the Lake George Post Office is being relocated “due to termination of lease.” The move to the Laporte Post Office, 13 miles away, became effective March 27. “Operations will resume once the new facility is constructed,” the notice states.
