As of 1 January 2026, citizens of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine will be able to make calls, send messages and use the mobile internet in the European Union without additional costs, on the basis of the ‘Roam like at home’ regime. The decision adopted by the EU Council on Friday, 25 July, marks an important step in the economic and digital integration process of the two States into the single European market.

Moldova to join EU free roaming zone from 2026 The Council of the EU has decided to integrate Moldova into the "roam like at home" zone from 1 January 2026. This will allow Moldovan and EU citizens to use mobile communications without additional costs in the respective countries.
