Indra Sistemas SA’s satellite operator Hispasat won a role as the primary contractor on a project valued at more than €1.6 billion ($1.8 billion) to provide services to the European Union’s IRIS² satellite network, part of Europe’s ambitions to build its own secure communications constellation.
Hispasat, the satellite operator of which is majority shareholder Indra, with 89.68%, has been designated as the main contractor for the antennas, control systems and terrestrial links of the secure satellite network IRIS2 of the European Union, with a budget of more than 1.6 billion euros.
