Hispanic man found dead in Belvidere pond identified

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — The Boone County Coroner has released the name of a Hispanic man who was found dead in a pond in Spencer Park in September. According to the Belvidere Police Department, officers were called to the park, at 825 N. Appleton Road, around 12:50 p.m. on September 15th. The person found dead in Belvidere's Spencer Park in September was identified as 59-year-old Juan Lopez Garcia. The Boone County Coroner asks anyone with information about Lopez Garcia's next of kin to contact them.
