The 40th Shizuoka International Championships, the 5th round of the Japan Grand Prix Series in Athletics, was held on the 3rd at the Shizuoka Stadium in Ogasayama Comprehensive Sports Park, and in the men's 400m time race final, Kei Hirakawa (Koza High School - Toyo University, 2nd year) set a new Okinawa Prefecture record with a time of 45.28 seconds. The previous prefecture record was 46.00 seconds, set by Jun Kimura in 2013.
