Texas' first hotel worker strike continues in Houston

Workers at the Hilton Americas hotel in downtown Houston have been on strike since Labor Day. It's the first strike of hotel workers in Texas history.

According to data from the Houston First Corporation, Houston hotels experienced a 7.7% increase in occupancy and a 15.5% increase in revenue in 2024. However, as of July 2025, Houston’s hotel revenue was down 6.1% so far this year.
