Hillary Clinton Launching Podcast Ahead of Midterms

The limited series will feature guests with differing viewpoints and track issues including the cost of living, healthcare and technology.

  • On Tuesday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and journalist Kara Swisher announced their new limited podcast series, 'High Stakes,' debuting Wednesday, Oct. 14, as a third weekly episode of Swisher's 'On With Kara Swisher' for New York Magazine.
  • Vox Media partnered with the duo to produce the series, building on Clinton's previous guest-hosting experience on Swisher's 'Pivot' podcast and plans for future collaborations.
  • The series explores political issues including the cost of living, healthcare, and technology ahead of the Nov. midterm elections. Clinton said, "People are hungry for real conversation" about races for control of Congress.
  • Under the agreement, Clinton and Swisher share advertising revenue from podcast episodes, following Lupa Systems' acquisition of the Vox Media podcast network earlier this year for more than $300 million.
  • Swisher recently announced her departure from CNN following Paramount Skydance's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, while Clinton suggested she may continue the series if it attracts sufficient audience interest.
