A day after a rockslide shut a BC highway Albertans use for a popular destination, a park authority said the debris has been removed, although the road remains closed as work continues to progress.

Highway 93 in Kootenay National Park, in the canyon leading to Radium Hot Springs, was closed Feb. 18 due to a rockslide. DriveBC reports today (Feb. 19) the highway remains closed for clean-up with no local detour available. Alternate routes to the Columbia Valley and East Kootenay are available via Highway 1 east to Golden and south on Highway 95 or through Crowsnest Pass/Highway 3.
