High school student invents device that filters microplastics from water

Barrie, Ont. – A Grade 9 Bradford District High School student has invented a device that removes microplastics from water through AI-powered UV detection. The autonomous device – called Aquabotix – was among about 250 entries at the recent Simcoe County Regional Science and Technology Fair.
