New figures show that even after the coalition out, the Ampel ministers continued to trim on Hochglanz – paid for by tax money. In the last three months before the Bundestag election alone, almost 50,000 euros were due.

According to the Bild newspaper, German government officials spent approximately 590,000 euros in public resources on makeup and styling services alone between 2022 and March 2025. Former Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock had the highest spending.
