A lead rifle attack caused panic in an HLM neighbourhood in Haute-Loire. A 65-year-old retired, accused of racist speech, targeted children between the ages of 5 and 11 years before being arrested.
The defendant was summoned to the Puy-en-Velay Correctional Court for "armed violence". The hearing will take place in July 2026. No racist shooting or speech took place according to the prosecution, contrary to some information.
According to two anonymous witnesses cited by the regional daily Le Progrès, the man ran after the children with his rifle, shouting "Outside the Blacks and the Arabs".
