The increase in cases of hepatitis A in the Czech Republic is dramatic, says epidemiologist and former Minister of Health Roman Prymula. According to data from the State Institute of Health, 928 cases and ten deaths have been reported this year as of July 21. Compared to the whole of last year, the number of patients so far is about half higher. Last year, two people died. Prevention is through increased personal hygiene and vaccination.
