Rebekah Vardy Viciously Slams Coleen Rooney as She Reignites ‘Wagatha Christie’ Row
Vardy says the court ruling still follows her and that she will never apologise, as the family’s new ITV series revisits the fallout.
On her new ITV reality show The Vardys, airing next month on ITV and ITVX, Rebekah Vardy reopened the Wagatha Christie row, insisting she will "never apologise" to Coleen Rooney.
The row originated on October 9, 2019, when Rooney posted "It's... Rebekah Vardy's account" after discovering leaks to The Sun; a July 2022 court ruled her claims "substantially true," ordering Vardy to pay £1.8 million in legal costs.
On the programme, Vardy maintained "I believe she was wrong" about the judgment while claiming she found "peace" and no longer bears a grudge toward Rooney, stating her wellbeing outweighs the dispute.
Footballer Jamie Vardy, 39, defended his wife as "a strong woman," rejecting perceptions she was a villain as the family relocated to Italy after his 13-year Leicester City tenure.
Rooney addressed the saga during her 2024 I'm a Celeb appearance and later created a Disney Plus docuseries The Real Wagatha Story; Vardy trademarked "Wagatha Christie" while neither woman has sought reconciliation.
