Dutch brewer Heineken sold less beer in the first half of the year, it announced Monday, as a slump in sales in Europe and the US failed to offset better performance in Asia.
Heineken saw its operating profit rise 7.4 percent to €1.4 billion in the first half of the year. This is above analysts' expectations. As expected, the brewer sold slightly less beer. However, sales of its flagship brand, Heineken, did increase.
