Sixth Adviser Leaves Hegseth's Pentagon Team
WASHINGTON D.C., UNITED STATES, JUL 19 – Justin Fulcher completed a planned six-month tenure amid a Pentagon leadership shakeup, part of at least six senior staff departures since January, officials said.
- Three sources told CBS News Saturday that Fulcher was ousted at the Pentagon headquarters, according to reports.
- In March, a Signal chat reportedly disclosed sensitive Yemen attack plans, triggering a staffing shakeup in Secretary Pete Hegseth’s office.
- An internal dispute saw Fulcher tell Hegseth he believed the Pentagon Force Protection Agency was looking for him.
- Fulcher told Fox News Digital he resigned on Thursday evening, while Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said it was 'not fair' to call the exit a firing, and called him a 'great guy'.
- Fulcher said he supported Hegseth in high-level Indo-Pacific meetings including the Shangri-La Dialogue and helped modernize IT systems by cutting procurement timelines from years to months, including redirecting nearly $50 billion to readiness.
