Heavy rain hit much of central Vietnam on Friday and flooded part of the historic city of Hue, a day after floods and landslides hit the coastal city of Danang. Authorities mobilized amphibious troops and armoured vehicles for rescue operations, the state press reported.

In Vietnam, the army was deployed on floods and landslides caused by rainfall, roads and houses were flooded in Hue and Danang. While armored vehicles are being used in search and rescue efforts, officials said the heavy rains are expected to last until October 11.

Department of CHQS TP. Da Nang activated the natural disaster prevention and prevention plan from October 8; ready forces and means to respond to natural disasters in any situation.
