Heavy rain, flooding threaten region before weekend heat wave

Forecasters said repeated storms could bring flash flooding and damaging winds before temperatures rise to 92 degrees and heat index values reach 104.

More heavy rain and severe storms are expected to impact the Ohio-Indiana region Friday morning, with a high risk of flash flooding and damaging winds continuing through the weekend before heat and humidity increase. A flood watch remains in effect with storms possibly slowing and prolonging rainfall.
