Heavy rain and flooding kill at least 62 in northern India

Officials said 62 people were killed and schools closed as rescue teams evacuated residents from flooded districts and helicopters airlifted stranded people.

  • At least 62 people died following three days of heavy rain and flooding in Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Monday, with more than 40 injured and nearly 1,000 homes damaged.
