Lyme Disease Case Confirmed In Carson City
(Carson City, NV) — Public health officials are confirming a case of Lyme disease in Carson City. Carson City Health and Human Services says the person may have been exposed during outdoor activities, or at work. It’s unclear exactly where the tick bite happened. The person did not travel outside of Northern Nevada for at least four weeks before experiencing symptoms. Lyme disease is not spread from person to person.
After experts from several institutions investigating infected ticks across the Czech Republic named Olomouc the worst of all regional capitals and failed to find a place in the entire region where the dreaded parasites were completely free of infection, the Olomouc Region claimed another unflattering first place. It took the top position in the nationwide ranking of people infected with Lyme disease.
