Absberg - For weeks the Health Office has imposed bathing bans or warnings on the Altmühlsee and the Kleine Brombachsee. Reason: the protection against the dangerous poisons of the blue algae. But are there consequences if one violates the ban?
Due to heat and drought, many Bavarian lakes are affected by cyanobacteria, also known as blue-green algae. They produce toxins and are therefore dangerous for humans and animals.
Green water or seaweed carpets? Those who no longer see their feet standing knee-deep should refrain from bathing, according to the Health Office.
