Margaret Versteden-Van Duijn, who was appointed head of Albert Heijn, Etos, and Gall & Gall just last year, will become CEO of Ahold Delhaize Europe & Indonesia on October 1. The retailer has begun the succession planning process.
Shortly after taking office as CEO of Albert Heijn, Etos, and Gall & Gall, Margaret Versteden-van Duijn will become the head of all of Ahold Delhaize Europe and Indonesia. She took office as head of the three retail chains in September 2025, and will assume her new role starting in October.

Dutch-Australian Margaret Versteden has had a steep career path at the retail group Ahold Delhaize. As a child, she grew up in isolation in a poor environment in Australia. Now she is taking the helm of all European stores of the group behind Albert Heijn, Bol, and Delhaize, which generated 92.4 million euros in revenue last year.
