A 27-year-old man died from a stab wound to the chest allegedly inflicted by his 17-year-old girlfriend in the La Otra Banda sector of Santiago province. The victim was identified as Luis David Gerónimo Suárez. According to preliminary reports, the man died while receiving medical attention at the José María Cabral y Báez Regional University Hospital, as a result of a stab wound to the left side of his chest.

A 55-year-old man, identified as Ubaldo Iñiguez, was found shot dead in the head after attacking his partner, Valeria Villalba (46), who remains in critical condition. Investigators believe that the man believed that he had killed her before he took his life.
