The mayor of Marmande had been attacked in court by the National Rally, to which he had refused to rent a room in his commune to organize a meeting of Jordan Bardella.
Joël Hocquelet, guilty of "discrimination based on political opinions", will have to pay a fine of 1,500 euros, plus 1,000 euros of court fees to be paid to the RN. At the hearing on 7 May, the Public Prosecutor's Office had requested a fine of 4,000 euros, half of which was suspended.
