Hay River’s Fisherman’s Wharf pavilion opened for the summer with 20 vendors selling food and wares last weekend. The outdoor market in Hay River is a popular spot where vendors sell art, produce, and “the best fish North of 60.” The market, on Vale Island, is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until at least mid-September, but Jill Morse, tourism co-ordinator for the Town of Hay River, said it may run even longer this year.
