"Having issue with bone spurs": Bo Nix gets real about ankle injury update as Broncos QB reveals follow-up procedure details
Bo Nix said a second April procedure relieved bone spurs, and Sean Payton said the quarterback should be fully healthy by late July.
On Tuesday, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix returned to the practice field for mandatory minicamp following an April surgery to address bone spurs in his ankle.
Nix fractured his ankle during a January playoff win over the Buffalo Bills, but persistent soreness from bone spurs necessitated the second procedure in April.
While participating in individual drills, the quarterback was held out of 11-on-11 team reps as head coach Sean Payton manages his return with caution.
Medical staff report the ankle "looks good as new," and Payton believes Nix will be fully cleared by the end of June for training camp.
The quarterback expressed confidence in his recovery, stating he feels "great" and expects to be "strong" and "fast" for the upcoming season.
