At 2,620 m above sea level, the Hôtel des Lacquets, closed in 1996, will reopen at the end of September, near the peak of the Midi (Hautes-Pyrénées). It will dethrone the Refuge de Solaise (2551 m above sea level), located in Val-d'Isère (Savoie).
In the Hautes-Pyrénées, a fifteen-seater cable car will link the observatory of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre to the hotel of the Laquets. The former refuge, renovated in a four-star hotel after forty years of abandonment, is scheduled to open at the end of September 2026.
