For a year now, there have been electronic patient records. The family doctor's association is not satisfied: the file is confusing and its IT system is prone to malfunction. Consumer protectors also demand a further development of the e-file.
A year ago, the electronic patient file was introduced. Today, consumer protectors want to take stock. The family doctors express criticism of the implementation and demand improvements.
The e-patient file should bring simplifications in everyday life for doctors and patients. Until now, however, family doctors are rather frustrated. The process does not work as planned.
The German Hausärztinnen- und Hausärzteverband takes a critical view of the electronic patient records introduced at the beginning of last year.
The "ePA for everyone" is well below expectations. Consumer protectors demand an independent evaluation, more protection and greater benefit.
For about a year, patients have been able to view their medical records digitally, but most of them hardly do. The procedure is far too complicated - say the family doctors now.
