Hatched: checking in on turtle nest named after NBC news anchor

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WSAV) -- A sea turtle nest along the South Carolina coast has been named after the family of Today Show anchor Craig Melvin. Melvin is a native of Columbia and worked for an NBC affiliate in the state capital for several years before eventually moving to Washington, DC. A loggerhead laid more than 125 eggs in the Sea Pines nest in June. The nest on Hilton Head Island was named after the anchor and his family. Those eggs…
