Sui’s Hashi Bitcoin Network to Launch With $500M in Capital Commitments
Hashi will let institutions use Bitcoin as collateral on Sui, backed by launch partners and vault providers.
On Thursday, the Sui Foundation announced Hashi, a Bitcoin finance network developed by Mysten Labs, with more than $500 million in capital commitments from launch partners.
Nathan McCauley, CEO and Co-Founder of Anchorage Digital, stated that institutional Bitcoin holdings remain constrained by existing technology and DeFi limitations, restricting capital utility.
Anchorage Digital joined the launch coalition alongside more than 20 companies including BitGo, Bullish, Cumberland, FalconX, and Ledger, offering settlement and self-custody services.
Aftermath, Concrete, and Fluid will operate Hashi vaults for financial products, while users exiting the system trigger token burning and Bitcoin return to the network.
The Sui Foundation said third parties will independently create financial products using the infrastructure, positioning Hashi within Sui's expanding Bitcoin and DeFi ecosystem.
