Union and SPD postpone the decision on the new Hamburg–Hannover line. Thus, one of the most important projects against bottlenecks in rail transport remains politically open – an agreement had already been reached.

A new railway line between Hanover and Hamburg is controversial. Actually, the Bundestag should deal with it this week. However, there is obviously still room for speech in the coalition.
Finally, the long-awaited new construction of the important route between the major cities in the north was to be decided. Now the plan is hijacking again.
According to NDR information, the parliamentary boards of the Union and SPD have requested that, contrary to the original planning, the Bundestag should not decide on the new line this week.
