Establishment-Backed GOP Candidate Wins Arkansas Secretary of State Primary Runoff
Hammer won by fewer than 1,000 votes and will face Democrat Kelly Grappe and Libertarian Michael Pakko in November.
Senator Kim Hammer won the Arkansas Republican primary runoff for secretary of state with 50.6% of nearly 81,000 votes, defeating Bryan Norris by just over one percentage point.
Hammer was endorsed by prominent Republicans including Senator Tom Cotton and Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, receiving substantial financial support and being seen as the establishment candidate.
Hammer will face Democrat Kelly Grappe and Libertarian Michael Pakko in the November general election to replace incumbent Cole Jester, who cannot run due to state law.
