Halifax municipality to charge flat rate for false alarms in buildings
Starting Sept. 1, Halifax property owners and tenants will pay a flat rate every time first responders attend a false alarm. The change replaces an escalating fee system that charged progressively higher fines for repeated occurrences within a single year.
