The Haitian government is accelerating the recruitment of police officers to increase the number of law enforcement officers. While almost 85% of the capital, Port-au-Prince, is now controlled by gangs, 4,000 new posts are to be created this year. The recruitment process has already begun and is very successful with young Haitians.
