Hacker accesses info on 1.2M French bank accounts

The French economy ministry said Wednesday that a hacker gained access to a national bank account database and consulted information on 1.2 million accounts.

A "malignant actor" was able to consult a part of the national bank account file (FICOBA), which lists all bank accounts opened in French institutions. According to the Directorate General of Public Finance (DGFiP), these leaks "do not allow to consult the bank accounts in France.
