- Ken Urker, the fiancé of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, died in Louisiana on Thursday, October 1, 2026, on his 33rd birthday. The Lafourche Sheriff's Office confirmed they responded at 6:15 p.m. CDT, finding him unresponsive.
- Following the 2017 HBO documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest, Urker sent Blanchard a "letter of support" while she was incarcerated, beginning their pen-pal relationship. The couple previously dated in 2018, then reunited in the spring of 2024.
