Guinea-Bissau: Civil society activist Vigário Luís Balanta found dead
Vigário Luís Balanta's body was found in the Ndam area, about 30 kilometres from the capital Bissau, according to local media. The 35-year-old activist was a vocal critic of Guinea-Bissau's military junta.
The remains of Vigário Luís Balanta, activist and president of the revolutionary movement Pó di Terra, were found on Tuesday 31 March at the gates of the capital, Bissau. A death that arouses indignation in civil society, which reacted strongly to what it calls "killing". The 35-year-old activist was constantly protesting against the leadership of the transition led by the junta to power.
