The Ministry of Energy has published the project on the regulation of the price of natural gas for domestic consumers and heat produced in the CETs.
The Ministry of Energy has put into public debate the draft emergency ordinance establishing the new measures for the natural gas market during the period April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027, including the maintenance of a protection mechanism for household consumers and regulated prices of 110 lei/MWh for producers, in the context of the gradual transition towards complete market liberalization.
The document includes the measures proposed to be applied after the expiration of the current natural gas price capping and compensation scheme, on March 31. The draft regulatory act aims to continue protecting household natural gas consumers for the period April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027 and gradually transition to a liberalized natural gas market for household consumers.
