Socialists and Democrats in the EP: Vučić Showed Contempt for European Values by Glorifying Mladić

President Aleksandar Vučić's decision for the state to participate in the transfer of the body of Ratko Mladić to Serbia and to enable a public commemoration for him represents an unacceptable glorification of a convicted war criminal and perpetrator of genocide and a grave insult to his victims, warned today the parliamentary group Socialists and Democrats, the second strongest in the European Parliament.

"You know that Ratko Mladić was never held accountable for the crimes he is responsible for in Croatia, primarily in Škabrnja, Knin and the Zadar hinterland, and he was convicted of genocide in Srebrenica. However, the current glorification of this war criminal is truly incompatible with European values."
