In more and more parts of the Netherlands, the electricity grid cannot handle the peaks in solar energy. Grid operator Enexis is therefore introducing a striking measure: households with solar panels are paid to temporarily dim their panels. This is a trial in Helmond and Waalwijk, which will start at the end of May, De Telegraaf reports.
Grid operator Enexis is going to start a trial in the regions of Waalwijk and Helmond, in which residents are paid to temporarily switch off their solar panels on sunny days.
