Multiple Space Companies Join NATO’s DIANA Defense Accelerator
NATO DIANA selected 150 companies from 24 countries for its largest cohort to accelerate dual-use tech development with €100,000 funding and access to 200+ test centers.
- DIANA announced on Dec. 10 that it named 150 companies from 24 countries for its 2026 cohort starting in January, including more than two dozen space-sector firms.
- Nearly five months after launching competitions, DIANA selected the largest cohort since its 2022 founding from more than 3,600 applications, interim managing director James Appathurai said.
- Phase one funding and 16 accelerator sites back the cohort, granting each company 100,000 euros and access to more than 200 test centers, with up to 300,000 euros available in phase two.
- Selected space firms bring varied technologies to DIANA, including U.S.-based Picogrid Inc. and SkyFi alongside others with propulsion, radioisotope power, and debris characterisation in Resilient Space Operations.
- DIANA said the program opens real‑world validation and commercial pathways across NATO nations to support safeguarding the Alliance's one billion citizens and accelerate breakthrough technologies over the next year.
