Green Bay's Doug Gottlieb Gets Contract Extension After Improved Performance in His Second Sesaon
The Phoenix improved from 4-28 to 18-15 last season, and the school did not release financial terms of the extension.
On Friday, Green Bay men's basketball head coach Doug Gottlieb agreed to a contract extension through the 2030-31 season, Athletic Director Josh Moon announced.
The extension follows a significant performance turnaround, as the Phoenix improved from a 4-28 finish in his 2024-25 debut to an 18-15 record last season.
Gottlieb and his staff engineered an improvement in conference play, moving from 2-18 in the Horizon League in his first season to 12-8 in his second.
Athletic Director Josh Moon, who hired Gottlieb in 2024, received his own contract extension on Wednesday that also runs through 2031.
Gottlieb stated his goal for the next five years is to return the Phoenix to the top of the Horizon League each season, while Moon praised his recruitment efforts.
