Only six out of 32 winter tires tested by the ÖAMTC receive the rating "good". Nine fail with "not enough".
HAK and its European partners tested 32 winter tire models ahead of the winter season. The test included 16 models in the 185/65 R15 size, intended for smaller city cars, and 16 models in the 225/50 R17 size for mid-range vehicles. As usual, premium brands achieved better results than lesser-known manufacturers, but significant differences were observed in the quality of cheaper tires depending on the size.
