As the holidays approach, the so-called guardians of traditions – ethnologists, clergy, and cultural figures – are once again active in the public sphere, reminding us how Christmas and Christmas Eve “should” be celebrated. Their speeches often emphasize preparing traditional food at home: by buying ready-made dishes from supermarkets or restaurants, we not only simplify, but also impoverish the holidays.
