Grass fire burns quarter acre in Cass County

WALKER — A grass fire Thursday, May 7, burned a quarter acre near the south end of Leech Lake in Cass County. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fire at 3:08 p.m. in Turtle Lake Township, east of Walker. According to the sheriff's office, a grass fire was reported on the 8000 block of Hawthorn Trail Northwest and was spreading into the woods.
