Since January 2024, there has been a "Do not call" register, and the new regulation, which came into force on September 12 and was published in the Official Gazette, more precisely.
The Executive established new rules for telephone advertising, with a numbering system that will allow to recognize the provider who makes calls and sends messages for commercial purposes.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) stated that calls and text messages for commercial or advertising purposes should be made from phones and cell phones that begin with the 500 series. The MTC indicates that companies wishing to make advertising communications should use this mandatory numbering, allowing citizens to decide whether to attend or ignore such communications.
Commercial calls must be identified with numbers starting at 500, according to the MTC. Operators will have 180 days (6 months) to conform to the new rules.
