The new system will operate under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will force national bodies to report certain international efforts, with greater weight in activities that may have an impact on Argentine sovereignty in the islands.
On Thursday, the Government of Argentina announced the creation of a System for the Articulation of Foreign Policy that will be part of the country's foreign portfolio and will help make "all the activity" of Buenos Aires outside the national borders, in relation to the claims of sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands, "coherent, compatible and uniform".
Decree 983/2026 set in motion the System for the Articulation of Foreign Policy, which will operate under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. All agencies of the National Public Administration will have to report certain meetings, negotiations and agreements with foreign actors. Malvinas will have a specific follow-up.
