In a successful bid to lure the Sundance Film Festival away from its long-time Utah home, a handful of Boulder-area groups offered an incentive package worth $34 million over 10 years.

According to 1NEWS on May 16, on that day, Economic Growth Minister Nicola Willis announced that the government will inject 577 million into the film and television production industry over the next four years to catch up with countries such as Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom that provide more generous film production incentives.
